Leonard J. Aube is the Executive Director of the Annenberg Foundation, one of the largest family foundations in the United States.  He joined the foundation in 2003 as Managing Director to assist Wallis Annenberg and the Annenberg family in establishing a West Coast presence for the Foundation. In 2009, Leonard oversaw the relocation of the Foundation’s headquarters to Century City from Radnor, PA.  The Foundation continues to operate with offices in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington DC.
 
Since inception, the Foundation Directors have authorized over $4.2 billion in grants to more than 2,700 nonprofits in 35 countries, in a wide range of program areas such as education, culture and arts; the environment, animal welfare and nonprofit capacity building. Under the active stewardship of Co-Directors Wallis Annenberg, Lauren Bon, Charles Annenberg Weingarten and Gregory Annenberg Weingarten, the Annenberg Foundation is expanding and redefining its relationship with the communities it serves. Sylia Obagi serves as the Director of Operations for the Annenberg Foundation, one of the largest family foundations in the United States.  In her role as Director of Operations, Sylia's portfolio of responsibilities includes overseeing the Foundation's Los Angeles program staff and strategic grant-making, capacity building initiatives, finance, information technology, operations and business administration, human resources and the new Annenberg Space for Photography.  Sylia was a principle architect of the Foundation's Vision+ approach to its community grant-making focusing on the identification of exceptionally-led non-profit organizations, as well as its newest capacity building initiative "Alchemy", a collaborative model of training services focusing on the development of both staff and volunteer leaders in the Los Angeles nonprofit sector.

Dave Sternberg is the author of the second edition of Fearless Fundraising for Nonprofit Boards, which is among the best sellers offered by BoardSource. He is a member of the faculty at The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University's Fund Raising School and a Senior Governance Consultant for BoardSource. At Indiana University, Dave teaches Developing Annual Sustainability, Principles and Techniques of Fundraising, Developing Major Gifts and Managing the Capital Campaign; as well as numerous customized training programs nationally and internationally. In 2006 he authored the course Purposeful Boards, Powerful Fundraising in partnership with BoardSource. Paul Vandeventer serves as the President & CEO of Community Partners, an intermediary organization which serves over 100 civic and social projects through fiscal sponsorship, provides consulting services to organizations and networks, partners with funders on initiatives to strengthen grantees, and shares knowledge through publications, trainings, and other resources.  Paul co-authored Networks that Work: A Practitioner's Guide to Managing Networked Action, and travels nationally to speak and consult on managing networks.  He lectured from 1997-2003 and continues to teach occasionally in the graduate program of USC's School of Policy, Planning and Development.  He was appointed a Society and Business Lab Senior Fellow at USC's Marshall School of Business and served in 2010 on the expert panel reviewing proposals to the Obama Administration's Social Innovation Fund.  Additionally, he serves on the membership advisory committee of Independent Sector, a national advocacy group, as a trustee of Flintridge Preparatory School and as a board member of Pasadena-based Furious Theatre Company.

In 2002, Diane Brigham joined Ryman Arts where she has led program expansion and raised the organizations profile as the leading pre-professional training program for talented teen artists in Southern California. Previously, Diane was Head of Education at the J. Paul Getty Museum. She has over thirty years experience in art education, beginning as a public school art teacher and earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Lydia has been involved in continued community service for over 26 years and has received numerous honors, including being named the California State Legislature Woman of the Year in March 2005 for her work with foster and at-risk youth. Lydia is a member of United Methodist Women, Top Ladies of Distinction and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, among other organizations. Lydia has served as a member of the Bishops' Task Force on Children and Poverty and the Los Angeles District Multiculturalism Team. Irma Muñoz proudest achievement is the launching of the environmental equity movement through the founding of Mujeres de la Tierra - social entrepreneurial non-profit in Los Angeles. She currently serves as co-chair to LA Green's Urban Ecosystems work group, Chairs the Alianza de los Pueblos del Rio, a board member of the Southwest Voter Registration Project and an Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles' Environmental Affairs Commission. Keren Taylor has been active as an afterschool program director and trainer for more than 15 years.  In 2010, WriteGirl was awarded the California Nonprofit of the Year Medal from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver.
A frequent speaker at conferences and book festivals, Keren is the recipient of numerous awards including the President's Volunteer Call to Service Award, Business & Professional Women's Community Woman of Achievement Award and the Soroptomist International's Woman of Distinction Award. Hyepin Im has been involved in various professional capacities related to faith-based economic development work, including her most recent involvement as a venture capitalist for Renaissance Capital Partners, an affiliate of the First A.M.E. Church and Hancock Park Associates. Prior to Renaissance Capital Partners, Im was the Sponsorship Manager for California Science Center. Im serves on the Steering Committee of Churches United for Economic Development and is chair of the Asian Faith Commission. She was responsible for mobilizing national and international support for helping Korean-Americans reunite with their families in North Korea, and was invited by the South Korean government to be part of the National Prayer Breakfast and the World Christian Parliamentarian Association. She is a member of the Pacific Council, the West Coast Partner for the Council on Foreign Relations and was appointed by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as a Commissioner for the California Service Corp. She recently completed a research study that focused on Korean-American Churches and Domestic Violence. The paper is titled, "Strengthening Families in the Korean/Asian Immigrant Community" and was supported by the U.S. Department of Labor. A graduate of the Coro Leadership of Southern California, Im received a B.S. from U.C. Berkeley, an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary. She is a German Marshall Fund American Memorial Marshall Fellow and attended Harvard Divinity School Summer Leadership Institute to learn about faith-based initiatives.

Teri Nelson Carpenter has served as Board Chair of Pediatric Therapy Network for over five years. Teri is president of Reel Muzik Werks, LLC (RMW), a full service film/TV music publishing company. Prior to RMW, Teri served as Senior Vice President for Saban Music Group. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing Saban's music business. Previously, she was Senior Vice President, Music Administration, for Fox Family Worldwide; and, prior to that, for Saban Entertainment, Inc. Before joining Saban, Teri served as a Music Administration and Production Executive at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Teri recently served as a two-term President, and has been a longtime board member, of the California Copyright Conference. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Composition from California State University, Long Beach, where she graduated with honors. She has performed under the direction of renowned vocal conductor Frank Pooler and in concert with Richard Carpenter and symphony orchestras across Southern California.

Cynthia Harnisch

After more than twenty-five years as a museum professional, Cynthia Harnisch changed career direction when she joined Inner-City Arts as Executive Director in 1999. Cynthia’s master’s degree is in Museum Studies from the University of Arizona and she is a graduate of the Museum Management Leadership Institute sponsored by the American Federation of Arts and the J. Paul Getty Trust. Cynthia is also a graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Business, Executive Education, 2004. She was a founding staff member and vice president of the Autry Museum of Western Heritage. Previously, she worked for the Arizona Historical Society and the University of Arizona Art Museum. While attending graduate school, she supervised a city-wide literacy program for impoverished youth. Lucia Diaz, first got involved with Mar Vista Family Center over twenty-five years ago, when she enrolled her 3 year-old in the preschool program. She began as any other parent involved with the project, volunteering one day a week in the classroom. Soon she was involved with community outreach for the center and became a part of its peer counseling group. Many years of dedication to children, both her own and those in the neighborhood, combined with her belief in shared community responsibility, have allowed her to impact the Mar Vista community with great positivity. She is now the Executive Director of the center. Lucia is one of WIN’s original creators.

Spike Dolomite Ward

Spike Dolomite Ward, had a son in kindergarten. As an artist and private art teacher for young children, she volunteered her time and resources to teach art in her son’s class. She started volunteering more, teaching, painting murals, and arranging for cultural field trips, all the while developing Arts in Education Aid Council, Inc., as a viable public charity. New to school district politics, the school PTA, and the Vanalden School Site Council, she rapidly learned how to navigate the politics of the school district, while preserving her nonprofit organization’s autonomy and integrity as an outside entity. The organization has evolved from supporting her son’s school, to providing full arts education programs in three elementary schools and providing additional assistance to another 50 elementary, middle and high schools.

Chuck Loring is the senior partner of the Fort Lauderdale and Indianapolis-based firm of Loring, Sternberg, and Associates, which provides fundraising and governance consulting services to nonprofits.
